ASC posts for Jan-Nov a 30% throughput growth to 1,55m tons

The volume of cargo handled by JSC Arkhangelsk Sea Commercial Port (ACS) in January-November, 2010 increased by 30% compared to the same period of 2009 to 1,553,000 tons, the company’s statistics said.

In the reporting period the stevedore transshipped 57,600 tons of cargo, not transported by sea (- 0,8%), 522,500 tons of outbound goods (up 1.75 times), 471,200 tons of inbound goods (+36.3%), 501,600 tons of cargo of coastal trade (-2.6%).

Arkhangelsk Sea Commercial Port JSC is a diversified stevedoring company operating at the Port of Arkhangelsk. The company handles primarily general cargoes, cellulose, cardboard, containers, timber, metals, fertilizers, heavy-lift equipment and bulked cargoes. In 2009, the port of Arkhangelsk handled 1,345,900 tons, a 23.7-percent drop year-over-year.
