Border-crossing checkpoint established at Dudinka port

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed a decree (Dec. 10, 2010 N2241-p) establishing a permanent marine cargo and passenger border-crossing checkpoint at the seaport of Dudinka. According to the document posted on the government’s website Rosgranitsa (Russian Border Services Agency) is authorized to carry out step-by-step commissioning of the checkpoint.

Port of Dudinka (Krasnoyarsk region) is located above the Arctic Circle, on the right bank of the Yenisei river, 2,000 km north of Krasnoyarsk. The port is accessible year-round for freight shipments from Murmansk and Arkhangelsk and during summer navigation -via rivers from Krasnoyarsk and Dixon. There are two stevedoring companies operating at the port: Polar transport branch of OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel and CJSC Taimyr Fuel Company.
