In November, the port handled 1,026,700 tons of cargo, which is almost on a par with the last year’s figures.
Port of Ust-Luga is located on Russia’s border with the EU. The port’s 16-m deep harbor and a 3.7-km approach canal make Ust-Luga the major Russian port on the Baltic Sea capable to accommodate 75.000dwt dry bulk ships and 120.000dwt tankers. In 2012, after completion of the entire port project, Ust Luga will become the end point of the Baltic Pipeline System 2 (BPS-2).
