Ust-Luga port handles the first direct shipment of Subaru cars from Europe

The port of Ust-Luga’s Ro-Ro terminal handled on Saturday, Dec. 18th, the first shipment of imported automobiles of Subaru car maker. The Ro-Ro vessel with 904 cars on board arrived at the port in Leningrad region directly from Amsterdam, bypassing the Port of Hanko (Finland). Earlier, the direct car deliveries were planned for the next year, said the press-service of JSC Ust-Luga (customer-developer of the port).

The Port’s Yug-2 has seen 2,741 Subaru cars since Oct. 10 when the Terminal started handling the cargo. The port plans to handle by the end of this year more than 3,000 cars of Subaru car maker.

Overall, the multipurpose Yug-2 Terminal is expected to transship up to 1,000 Subaru cars a month.

The multipurpose Yug-2 terminal was designed for handling Ro-Ro cargos, new imported cars, containers and general cargo.  To date, the terminal handles automobiles of well-known car makers: Toyota, Hyundai, Kia and Subaru.
