Her Majesty's Courts of Justice of England and Wales decided to partially satisfy the civil suit and to recover $ 60 million from Yuri Nikitin for the plaintiffs - Novoship and Sovcomflot, the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office said.
The Court also decided to provide the aggrieved party $ 90 million as a guarantee of payment and compensation of court proceedings.
Former executives of Sovcomflot and Novoship - Dmitry Skarga and Tahir Ismailov, Director of Sovcomflot’s London office Yuri Privalov, as well as businessman Yuri Nikitin, a friend of Mr. Skarga were found guilty in embezzlement and fraud, causing damage. According to the Prosecutor's Office some foreign companies, brokers, bankers and lawyers participated in the organization of fraudulent transactions.
A criminal case over offence against the property of the companies mentioned above was initiated in 2005 and is being under investigation by the Central Investigation Department of the Investigation Committee of the Russian Prosecutor's Office.
