Almaz Shipyard lays the 2nd patrol ship

St. Petersburg-based Almaz shipbuilding firm lays down today the second Border Guard Patrol Boat of project 22460, RBC reports.
Also, Almaz Marine Yard and the Customer will sign today with an acceptance certificate of an ice-class patrol vessel PS-581 of project 22120.

The border patrol ship was designed by Northern Design Bureau (St. Petersburg) to patrol the state border of Russia and the territorial sea, as well as to combat terrorism and piracy. Displacement of the vessel is 630 tons, max speed - 30 knots, cruising range - 3,500 miles, endurance - 30 days, length - 62,5 m.

The Ice-class patrol boat is designed to monitor the fishery in the Russian territorial waters. It is designed by Design Bureau Petrobalt Ltd. Ship dimensions: length - 71 m, breadth - 10,5 m, draft - 3,37 m, displacement - about 1,023 tons, range – 6,000 miles, endurance - 20 days, max speed - 24 knots.

In 2010, Almaz Shipbuilding Company delivered to customers 9 ships and boats, of which 7 were built for the FSB Border Guard Service of Russia. Currently, the company is building the first border patrol vessel of project 22460 and a project 22120 ship for the Russian BGS, a frigate of project 10412 for the Vietnam Navy in as well as artillery ships of project 21630 fro the Russian Navy.
Almaz Shipbuilding Company (St. Petersburg) was formed in July 1993. Net income of the company (to RAS) in the first half of the year totaled 46,328,000 rubles versus net loss of 11,056,000 rubles a year earlier. Revenues of the firm jumped by 10.2 times in January-June, to 1,594,864,000 rubles.

St. Petersburg-based Almaz Marine Yard was founded in 1931. The shipyard specializes in the construction and repair of high-speed boats of the Federal Border Service and the Russian Navy. Net loss of AMY for 2009 (RAS) amounted to 27,015,000 rubles vs net income of 812,000 rub in 2008. In 2009, revenues of the company totaled 854,289,000 rubles, a fourfold gain y-o-y.
