Port of Tianjin November box volume up 14.2 per cent

Port of Tianjin handled 899,000 TEU in November, up 14.2 per cent year on year. Its throughput tonnage increased 9.9 per cent to 35.5 million tonnes. Both figures have set a new historical high, Xinhua reported.
During the first 11 months of this year, the port container throughput totalled 9.2 million TEU and cargo tonnage of 369 million tonnes. The port is expected to be able to meet its target of 10 million TEU or 400 million tonnes by the end of this year.
There are currently 28 container shipping lanes calling at Tianjin. Ten of them are ocean shipping routes.
