OOCL hikes handling charges for Australia

OOCL on Thursday announced increases in terminal handling charges for China mainland traffic to and from Australia, effective Jan. 3. As costs increase, OOCL said the increases were necessary to maintain quality service.
The terminal handling charge for traffic from China’s mainland (except Hainan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi and Guangdong Provinces) to or from all Australia destinations will be increased to $92 per 20-foot container, $135 per 40-foot container. The charge for 20-foot reefers and other containers will be $107 each. The charge for 40-foot reefers, high cube containers and other containers will be $150 each.
