As of 8:00am (MT), April 6th, 71 vessels requested icebreaker assistance in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland, the Port Authority of Big Port St. Petersburg said.
The St. Petersburg PA reports of total 88 merchant ships currently located in the water area, 17 of them - in motion.
Over the past day 27 ships have reached the entrance buoy of St Petersburg port, 21 vessels are westbound from the Gulf area, 11 ships called and 21 ships left the port.
4 merchant vessels are subject to ice restrictions, 2 of them - at the port of St. Petersburg, 1 – in Vyborg and 1 – in Ust-Luga.
