Ice restrictions still effective at Big Port St. Pb

The Big Port St. Petersburg Port Authority does not lift ice restrictions for merchant ships as yet due to weather conditions. The Port Authority plans to ease the restrictions as of 00:00 April 12, 2011. However, the PA says the move might be postponed to a later date, PortNews reports citing the Port Authority.

"Strong west winds are still blowing, the situation in the area remains difficult. Some of the icebreakers will operate until early May," PortNews quoted an official of the port as saying.
