Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp posted an improvement in its first quarter results compared to year-ago levels, Seatrade-asia reports. Net profit for the Taiwanese liner was recorded at NT$119.96m ($4.2m) in the first quarter, surging from NT$22.09m posted in the same quarter last year.
The Taipei-listed firm registered revenue of NT$22.94bn, inching up from NT$21.84bn a year ago. Its operating income continued to post a loss of NT$526.76m compared to a loss of NT$450.99m in the previous quarter.
