Maersk's new Intra-European carrier starts operating

Maersk Line and Safmarine have launched a new intra-Europe line service. The new operator Seago Line, established by Maersk Group, will focus on the short hauls in the intra-Europe trade, the Seago Line's press release said.

Seago Line will be 100% owned by A.P. Moller – Maersk and will have its headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company's stuff is 250 employees.  

"We want to provide a more flexible to the specific needs of our customers service in this market segment," Seago Line's CEO Jakob Bomholt said.

All vessel operation of intra-European strings will be consolidated in Copenhagen to ensure a dedicated short sea focus.

The Maersk Line and Safmarine country organizations will transfer their intra-European business to Seago Line – in most countries with an expected hand-over date during May and June.

Seago Line will be represented in more than 25 countries.
