VCT’s box volumes up 13.8% to 95,350 TEUs

Container volume handled at Vladivostok Container Terminal Ltd. (VCT) in January-April 2011 rose by 13.8% from the same period of 2010 to 95,356 TEUs, the company press release said.

In April, handing of containers at the terminal increased by 11.6% to 24,790 TEUs, including 9,219 TEUs of exported containers, 9,770 TEUs of imported ones and 5,783 TEUs of costal traffic. The terminal handled 31 container ships in April, versus 27 vessels a month earlier. The average turnover per vessel amounted to 777 TEUs.
 
Vladivostok Container Terminal Ltd. is a container terminal, operating at the port of Vladivostok. VCT is capable of handling all types of containers, as well as cargoes of almost any size and weight. In 2010, container throughput of VCT soared by 40% year-over-year to 288,195 TEUs.
