St. Petersburg lawmakers oust the Federation Council speaker

Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg has adopted a resolution on the dismissal of Sergei Mironov, a representative of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg and the head of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly, the city parliament’s press office said. The resolution comes into force from the date of its adoption.

Mr. Mironov has represented the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg in the upper house of Russian parliament since 2001.
