Baltiysky Shipyard’s Q1 loss shrinks by 6.1% to RUB 9,2 million

Net loss of Baltiysky Shipyard according to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) in the I quarter of 2011 decreased by 6.1% from a year earlier, to RUB 9,222,000, the shipbuilder’s press service reported. The company's revenue for the period soared by as much as 4.8 times to RUB 415,173,000. Sales profitability was 18.8% against 0.18% a year before.

St. Petersburg-based Baltiysky Shipyard (part of United Industrial Corporation, UIC) is one of the largest shipbuilding enterprises in Russia. The company specializes in the construction of icebreakers and ice-class vessels (nuclear-powered or diesel), of large vessels for shipping of various cargo, and warships. The company manufactures a wide range of engineering products, power equipment. It is also a supplier of ferrous and steel castings. The shipbuilder’s net income for 2010 amounted to RUB 274,000, revenue totaled RUB 1 billion 195 million.
