The significant increase in cargo throughput is driven primarily by the new transport project launched by BFC - shipping of oil products by Russia’s Inland Waterways, the company said. BFC will deploy two tankers (the Volgoneft-41, the Volgoneft-56, DWT 5,000 mt each) for transportation of the cargo from refineries located in Russia’s central region.
Overall, the company is going to operate this summer 10 oil tankers of total deadweight of more than 6,000 tons. Seven tankers will be carrying out bunkering of vessels in the waters of Russian seaports located in the Gulf of Finland (Big Port St. Petersburg, Ust-Luga), and all over the Neva River - from Lake Ladoga to St. Petersburg port.
The 5,000DWT Captain Ponikarovsky will be engaged in shipping of export oil from the port of St. Petersburg to the EU ports, BFC said.
This year, the projected volume of oil products shipments by the BFC's fleet is 400,000 tons, bunker sales volume - 350,000 tons.
Baltic Fuel Company was established in St. Petersburg in 2008 to manage the bunkering holding’s companies. For over 10 years, the Group’s divisions have been engaged in oil products export, bunkering operations, provision of environmental services, etc. BFC operates a bunkering fleet of more than 25 vessels in the North-West Russia.
