Fuel oil-laden barge sank on the River Ob

The barge KP 200-129 with 200 tons of fuel oil on board sank near the town of Megion (1658th km of the river Ob), the Transport Ministry’s press service reported. The incident occurred on Tuesday at 10 am (MT). The Articulated Tug / Barge was en route Surgut – Alexandrovo, up the river Ob. The shipowner a private businessman had a valid license for the carriage of goods by inland waterways.

The ship’s crew was evacuated from the drowned vessel. No casualties or oil spill reported. The ship was towed off before it completely sank and now she does not hinder the river traffic.
