Alexander Rahr says Germany for managing the world’s problems by the U.S., EU and China

Germany seeks to create a format of the world management through “The Big Three” - the U.S., the EU and China, said Alexander Rahr, Program Director of the Berthold Beitz Center for Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Central Asia at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), the PortNews correspondent reported. Mr. Rahr was speaking at the Baltic Forum’s International Conference “The Continent of Eurasia After the Crisis: Challenges and Prospects for Cooperation."

According to him, the EU participation in “The Big Three" should not be considered without Russia’s involvement. "The EU is interested in the union with Russia because of lack of natural resources", Alexander Rahr was quoted as saying.

As the DGAP spokesperson said, the talks about the possible disintegration of the EU, during global financial crisis, are no longer relevant.

"The EU has been able to create a system of mutual aid within itself, which can serve as a model for other international organizations", said Alexander Rahr.
