The upgraded service will deploy 10 vessels with capacities of 2,800 20-foot equivalent units on the following fixed-day port rotation: Ningbo, Shanghai and Chiwan, China; Hong Kong; Port Kelang, Malaysia; Durban, South Africa; Lagos, Nigeria; Cotonou, Benin; Tema, Ghana; Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire; Durban; Port Kelang; and back to Ningbo.
The CSAV upgrade is part of a rush among carriers into the growing African market. In May alone, carriers including Safmarine, Hamburg Sud, Maersk Line, CMA CGM and China Shipping have restarted or expanded services linking Africa, Asia and South America.
