Coal exports via Port Vysotsky terminal soar 49 percent

The volume of export coal handled at the terminal of Port Vysotsky LLC (Leningrad region) in January-July 2011 surged by 49 percent compared to the same period last year, to 1 892 286.5 tons, the stevedoring company said.

In July 2011 the terminal coal throughput amounted to 290 828.2 tons.

Port Vysotsky LLC operating the coal terminal specializes in handling of coal cargo exported to Western Europe. The terminal is able to accommodate and handle two45000dwt bulkers or 3 vessels each 25000dwt at a time.
In 2010, the company exported 2.3 million tons of coal versus 2.9m tons a year earlier.
