Taman terminal edible oil volumes jump 4.5 times
Imports of vegetable oil through Food Ingredients Terminal based at the port of Taman for the first 9 months of 2011 surged by 4.5 times from last year’s figures, to 561,200 tons, the Taman Port Authority said.
In the reporting period, the terminal handled 30 vessels versus 8 ships in Jan-Sept, 2010.
Food Ingredients LLC is one of the investors and developers of the southern Russian seaport of Taman. In 2008, The company commissioned the first phase of “Food Ingredients” handling complex, a facility for production of specialized oils. Currently, the company is building the second phase of the complex, a facility for handling loose cargoes - a grain terminal, including a silo, berths and a railyard. In 2010, the stevedore handled 247,420 tons.
