Krestovsky Yacht Club hosts awards ceremony for UST-LUGA CUP winners
A team of the Rosterminal marine terminal based in the port of Ust-Luga, who won a convincing victory in the International UST-LUGA CUP regatta, yesterday was awarded during the closing ceremony with the boat race Cup and medals. The awards were handed over by the Leningrad region governor Alexander Drozdenko and Ust-Luga Board’s Chairman Valery Israelit. The solemn ceremony was attended by Victor Stepov, head the Octyabrsky Railroad.
The crew of the Rosterminalugol’s yacht “Seventh Wave” (Beneteau First 47,7), consisting of eight people led by skipper Tomas Malmqvist (Sweden) and co-skipper Alexander Elistratov (Russia), came first in five of the six races held during the regatta, and demonstrated the fastest time in the international boat race.
The second was was the team CMM on the yacht "Anna," the third came a team of Ust-Luga Company (the yacht Gloria).
The International UST-LUGA CUP, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Ust-Luga Commercial Sea Port was launched on June 4, 2012 in Stockholm. The final stage of the race finished on June 10 in Tallinn. Ust-Luga Company CEO Maxim Shirokov addressing the participants of the regatta and guests who gathered at the closing ceremony at Krestovsky Yacht Club (St. Petersburg), announced about the decision to hold the UST- LUGA CUP annually.
