Marine Facade terminal will accept the first vessel with tourists on May 4, 2009, BIA cites Aleksandr Shimberg, PR Manager of Marine Facade as saying Monday. According to Aleksandr Shimberg, Marine Façade expects 100 calls from 15 companies this year.
Managing Company Marine Facade implements two large-scale projects integrated into one known as Marine Facade. Total investment into the project is to make RUR 29 bln. The project on construction of a marine passenger terminal and development of the Vasiljevsky Island’s western part envisages reclamation of about 400 hectares to be occupied by the terminal, residential area as well as social and commercial facilities. The marine passenger terminal will be able to receive cruise and ferry vessels with a length up to 311 meters and a draft of up to 10 meters. The project’s first phase envisages construction of two berths with necessary facilities. The capacity of the passenger terminal during the high season is supposed to make 12,000 passengers per day. It is planned that the city budget is to get from the terminal at least $25 mln per year, while the federal budget is to get some $40 mln.
