RF authorities to allocate RUB 25 bln for development of port infrastructure in Far East and Transbaikalia
To finance the project on the development of port infrastructure of the Far East and Transbaikalia regions, the federal budget will have to allocate some RUB 25 bln. According to the press center of RF Government, this was announced by Andrey Belousov, Economic Development Minister of the Russian Federation, at the meeting of the state commission on social-and-economic development of the Far East, the Buryat republic, the Zabaikalye territory and the Irkutsk region.
“The aim (of the project – editorial comment) is activization of maritime transportation of interregional and international cargoes. The project implies the reconstruction of state-owned facilities in the ports of Magadan and Pevek. There is also a plan to build a new specialized port at the Far East shore to ensure availability of port infrastructure for small and average coal producing companies. The location of this port is under consideration now. Besides, it is supposed to continue the development of the industrial-transport hub Vanino - Sovetskaya Gavan in the Khabarovsk territory. To solve this task, a special economic port zone was established by the decision of the RF Government. To finance the project on the development of port infrastructure, some RUB 25 bln should be allocated from the federal budget,” Andrey Belousov said.
