Bergen Group announces change of delivery time for cruise ferry ordered by Fjoird Line
Bergen Group Fosen Fjord Line has notified Fjord Line about a delay in delivery for up to three weeks for first cruise ferry. The reason is that the installation and testing of engines and other technical equipment is assumed to take longer than planned, the shipbuilder's press release said.
The adjusted delivery date will cause additional expenses for Bergen Group Fosen. Appropriations will be taken into account in the Group's interim report for Q1 2013, to be presented on Wednesday 29 May.
MS "Stavangerfjord" is the first of two large modern cruise ferries to be built for Fjord Line by Bergen Group Fosen. The ships are referred to as the most environmentally friendly cruise ferry of its kind.
Fjord Line has, based on the announced delay in delivery, decided to postpone the first sailing with "Stavangerfjord"; from Wednesday 29 May to Friday 21 June departing from Bergen.
"We have booked the most technically advanced equipment available, and just have to take into account that the yard needs more time to get this in place and tested", says Fjord Line's CEO Ingvald Fardal in a separate press release from the ship owner.
