Russian ports can improve competitiveness with expansion of port facilities – Rosmorport
Improvement of Russian ports’ competitiveness will be possible with the creation of sufficient port facilities, IAA PortNews journalist cites Andrey Boldorev, deputy head of investment management and strategic development of FSUE Rosmorport, as saying at the Russian Ports conference.
He marked the expansion of Russian port facilities twice by 2030, to double from 850 mln to 1.4-1.6 bln t per year, as one of the key tasks of the port infrastructure development strategy.
Boldorev added that the competitiveness will be also facilitated by “the regulation of cooperation between seaports and railway/inland water way/automobile transport as well as the creation of logistic complexes, free economic zones and improved railway tariff policy”.
The main factor hindering the development of seaports is “bottlenecks” of railway infrastructure, he emphasized.
