LUKOIL commenced transporting host platform jackets towards Filanovsky field (photo)
On October 8, 2013, LUKOIL OJSC commenced transporting host platform jackets along the Volga-Caspian Canal from Astrakhan to Filanovsky field being developed by the company in the Northern part of the Caspian Sea, Lukoil press center says.
In the nearest time, the jackets will be positioned and fixed at the seabed. The field На месторождении уже установлены опорные основания The jackets of the ice-resistant fixed platform, living quarter platform and riser block platform have been installed in the field.
The four platform’s upper structures and crossover bridges will be installed in 2014. All these structures are being built for LUKOIL by Astrakhan-based shipyards.
The Filanovsky oil and gas condensate field was discovered in 2005. It is located in the Northern part of the Caspian Sea, 220 km from Astrakhan. The sea is 7 to 11 meters deep there. Experts estimate its reserves at 220 mln t of oil and 40 bln cbm of gas. The production volumes are to make 8 mln t of oil.
Production drilling in the field is to be started in 2014 with oil production to begin in late 2015.
