Viking Supply Ships enteres $120m contract for 4 AHTS vessels
Viking Supply Ships (VSS) has entered into a contract with a major oil company for the charter of the AHTS vessels “Loke Viking”, “Magne Viking”, “Brage Viking” and “Balder Viking”. The contract applies to the drilling seasons 2014 and 2015, with options for the drilling seasons 2016 and 2017. The drilling season is expected to commence around April / May each year. The total value of the contract’s firm period including mobilization fee is around $120 million, the Company said in a press release.
The contract further adds to the company’s backlog, which now accounts for MNOK 2,845 including charterer’s options, an increase of MNOK 1,675 since 1st of January 2013. With the recent contract the AHTS fleet has an estimated contract coverage including charterer options of 62% for 2014 and 57% for 2015.
Viking Supply Ships A/S (VSS) was founded in December 2010 under the name Trans Viking Offshore A/S as a subsidiary to TransAtlantic to become the parent company for all offshore activities in the group. Currently, the company has offices in four countries. The Copenhagen office as the company's headquarters operates five vessels registered in the Danish International Register (DIS), Stenungsund office - for the management of the three vessels working for SMA and also the Ship Management of the five Swedish state owned icebreakers, Kristiansand, Norway - the marketing and chartering office and the office in Moscow for marketing services in the Russian market.
