Under the supervision of the Latvia-Russia Intergovernmental Committee, a task-force will be formed with the aim to improve regional cooperation between Latvia and Russia, Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin told members of the press conference after a meeting with Riga Mayor Nils Usakovs (Harmony Center).
Usakovs pointed out that Riga has huge potential in cooperation with Russia's regions, and that such cooperation would be beneficial for Latvia.
Both officials discussed various issues and exchanged points of view on anti-corruption measures.
Levitin admitted to members of the press that the creation of such a task-force would promote contacts between Latvia and Russia and improve cooperation.
As reported, Levitin has arrived in Riga to participate and co-chair the Latvia-Russia Intergovernmental Committee.
