Unique passenger superliner for polar expeditions, MS Hanseatic, arrives in Vladivostok. According to the statement of the city administration, she carries 180 foreign tourists on their unique extreme voyage to remote areas including high Arctic latitudes. Vladivostok is an intermediate destination where tourists will rest before going to the Arctic.
It is the first call of such a liner in Vladivostok. The ship will stay for two days there.
Over the recent 3-4 years Vladivostok has become a port of call for the most modern passenger ships bringing tourists from tens of foreign countries.
Cruise liner MS Hanseatic was built in 1991 by Rauma shipyard (Finland) for one of German cruise companies. In 2007, she undergone a fundamental reconstruction which turned the ship into a 5-start floating hotel.
The liner flying the flag of Bahama Islands is used for expedition cruises all around the world. Her ice class, Е4, is the highest for passenger ships, which allows Hanseatic sail to the Arctic and Antarctic.
Displacement – 8,380 t, length - 123 m, width - 21 m, draught – 5.2 m. Cruising speed - 16 knots. Crew - 125 persons. Accommodation - 184 passengers in 92 comfortable cabins.
The liner has 7 decks, 2 lifts, 2 restaurants, 3 bars, a swimming pool, whirlpool, solarium, gym, beauty salon, sauna, night club, library, cinema, PC cafe. 14 Zodiac boats can deliver the tourists to locations inaccessible for large vessels. There are also sport and mountain bikes for riding around hard-to-reach places.
