Prologis Inc, an industrial real estate provider and manager, is to develop a 36,000 sqm logistics facility at Prologis Parc Venlo at Trade Port North (TPN) in the Netherlands, the company said in its press release.
It will increase the size of Prologis' Venlo portfolio, which currently comprises five fully leased distribution facilities at Prologis Parc Venlo (photo) totalling 156,000 sqm. Venlo is one of the largest concentration areas for distribution in the Rotterdam hinterland a/o via the ECT barge and rail terminals and the very frequent (several times per day) hinterlandconnections.
The new 12.2 m high facility, named DC6, which will have LED lighting and a Breeam sustainability certificate (standard: very good), is due for completion in early 2015. The platform will have the potential to expand to more than 70,000 sqm.
