In January-August 2014, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port OJSC handled 2.094 mln t of cargo (-27.5%, year-on-year), the stevedoring company says.
In the reported period, transshipment of ferrous metal fell by 24.2% to 707,000 t, coal and coke – increased by 14.3% to 199,700 t, oil products – fell by 56.8% to 112,300 t, scrap metal – climbed by 1.3% to 85,200 t.
The port’s container throughput increased by 0.9% to 103,551 TEUs.
Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port OJSC is the largest enterprise of the regional port complex. Practically all means of transport and the basic part of the export-import freight traffic passing through the region, close in the port. In 2013, the port’s throughput totaled 4.068 mln tonnes.
