“K” Line to add 5 additional ULCVs to its containership fleet
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, LTD. (“K” Line) will enhance its fleet with an additional five new generation eco-friendly ULCVs (Ultra Large Container Vessels) as replacements in its existing fleet in order to further strengthen both efficiency and cost competitiveness of “K” Line’s Containership Business, the company said in its press release.
These 5 new vessels will join another 5 identical sister ships who will go into service during Spring to Summer 2015, bringing total number of “K” Line’s ULCVs to ten (10) vessels. As one of the world’s major ocean carriers, this substantial investment in an eventual total of 10 new ULCV sister ships is aimed at better serving the needs and requirements of “K” Line’s esteemed shippers worldwide.
