Navibulgar has contracted 4 firm + 2 options bulk carriers at China`s Jiangsu Hongqiang Marine Heavy Industry shipyard, the company said in its press release. Bluetech 42 is a novel, eco-friendly handy size bulk carrier developed by Foreship Blue Tech Ltd of Finland.

Main engine MAN 5G50 B9.5 Tier II, NCR 4900 kW, ME consumption – 18.4 t/day - at service speed (T=9.5 m)

The main benefits of the design are:
- hold volume is appr. 15 % bigger and deadweight 5-9 % compared to main competitors
- consumption/hold volume and consumption/dwt are the lowest in class
- according to HSVA database it has lowest resistance trough the whole speed range, thus even more benefits are expected in slow steaming
Hongqiang is a shipyard located on the Yangtze river, at the entrance of the sea and only 68 km from Shahghai. It specializes in offshore engineering and shipbuilding.
