Dalzavod OJSC completes repairing of rescue tugboat Fotiy Krylov (photo)

Ship repair center Dalzavod OJSC (Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center) has completed repairing of rescue ship Fotiy Krylov. According to the company, the vessel was undocked on September 13, 2014. 

According to Igor Yevdokimov, Executive Director of Dalzavod, the company has fulfilled 100% of works ordered by the customer.

The Fotiy Krylov was built back in 1989 together with her twin Nikolai Chiker in Finland, and after running several tests, this class of ships had been recorded in the Guinness Book of records. At power capacity 25,000 hp. they both are able to tow ships with displacement of up to 25,000 even in heavy seas.

From the beginning of the year, Dalzavod repaired 30 warships and auxiliary ships for RF Pacific Fleet, the backlog of orders numbers 170 crafts. 

Ship repair center Dalzavod OJSC (Vladivostok) was created by uniting the facilities of two yards – JSC 178th Ship Repair Yard of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and JSC Dalzavod. Up to now, ship repair and other related works have been the main area of the two companies’ activities. In 2013, Dalzavod repaired some 200 ships. 

From 2014, Dalzavod is the only State Defense Procurement company to repair RF Pacific Fleet ships.  The volume of State Defense Procurement 2014 is RUB 12.5 bln. Parallel to production activities the company is busy with modernization platforms production facilities and replacement of outdated equipment. RUB 350 mln has been allocated by the company for these purposes.
