In recent years, Shanghai’s port has emerged as one of the world’s busiest, and the city is one of the most important business centers in Asia. Port Metro Vancouver’s presence in Shanghai is intended to further strengthen key customer engagement, marketing and promotion activities throughout Asia, including the critical markets of China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore, as well as emerging markets, the company said in its press release.
In 1992, Port Metro Vancouver was the first foreign port in the world to open a dedicated office in China, located in Beijing. The new office in Shanghai is expected to be open by March 2015.
