Throughput of Sevastopol seaports down 51.3% to 2.01 mln t in Jan-Aug’14

In January-August 2014, commercial seaport, fishing seaport and other berths of port Sevastopol handled 2.01 mln t of cargo (-51.3%, year-on-year), Sevastopol department of State Statistics Service says.

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 1.37 mln t, transit - 491,300 t, inland traffic – 61,100 t, import - 5,000 t. The number of vessels handled in Sevastopol - 158 including 96 foreign vessels and vessels chartered by foreign companies .

In August 2014, water transport companies carried 407,500 passengers (-46.0%, year-on-year). In the 8-month period – 3.46 mln passengers.
