Dredging fulfilled at port Sabetta exceed 19 mln cbm in navigation 2014

In navigation period of 2014 (July-mid Spetember), over 19 mln cbm of material was excavated at port Sabetta (Yamal), Sergei Gorelik, deputy head of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot), told IAA PortNews.

According to him, the volume of dredging operations executed during this season within the port’s water area and the approach canal exceeds 82% of the total volume of 2.4 mln cbm. As for the sea canal, it exceeds 90% of total volume of 19.1 mln cbm. “The plan for dredging in Sabetta will be executed in full this year,” Sergei Gorelik said.

9 dredgers and 14 auxiliary vessels operate in the port’s water area and the approach canal in 2014. Vessels of Fertoing LLC and USK Most OJSC (contractor of Mordraga LLC ) ensure implementation of organization activities. 

Operations in the water area and the approach canal of Sabetta are executed by cutter suction dredger Dartagnan and suction hopper dredgers Melina, Eke Mobius and Njord R.

Dredging operations at the sea canal are carried out by suction hopper dredgers Kongo River,  Nile River, Lange Wapper, Uilenspigel and Breughel.
