Russia proposes holding full-scale five-party training exercises in 2016 for rapid response services
Disaster warning and relief in the Caspian Sea is an important part of work today, RF President Vladimir Putin said at the expanded format meeting of heads of state taking part in the Fourth Caspian Summit.
As a first step, Russia proposes holding full-scale five-party training exercises in 2016 for rapid response services. “This will enable us to test in practice the warning procedures and rescue services’ coordination”, Vladimir Putin said.
According to Putin, it is necessary to continue improving the legal base and developing common norms and standards for activity on the Caspian. “We need to ratify in swift time the protocols on responding to oil spills, protecting the Caspian Sea from pollution and preserving biological diversity, which were adopted in order to implement in concrete form the Tehran Convention on Protecting the Marine Environment of 2003,” he said.
