The Government of Norway has decided to tighten its restrictive measures against Russia. This brings Norwegian legislation in line with the measures introduced by the EU on 12 September. Amendments to the regulations came into effect immediately.
‘Russia’s actions in Ukraine remain a matter of serious concern. A fragile ceasefire is in place, but Russia has not complied with the demands made by the international community, including immediate, complete withdrawal of all military equipment and personnel from Ukrainian territory. Despite massive international pressure, Russia has not demonstrated any willingness to change its course in Ukraine, which is in violation of international law,’ said Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende.
The European Union banned debt financing for 3 Russian companies of the oil and gas sector - Rosneft, Transneft and Gazprom Neft. The EU banned trading in bonds of these enterprises with maturity of more than 30 days and participation in the organization of such bonds’ issue. Supplies of European dual-purpose technologies are banned for nine more defense institutions.
