Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg renews its fleet of handling equipment

On October 13, 2014 within the programme on technical development OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb) puts into operation two new Komatsu WA 200-5 wheeled front-loaders, the company says in its press release. New equipment is suitable for handling of alumina.

The loaders are equipped by everything required to operate in the hold of the vessel, including air filtration system and centralized lubrication system for bearings. Both loaders are equipped by the buckets with capacity of 2.4 m³.

Programme on technical development of the company envisages standardization of the fleet of port equipment, optimization of equipment quantity and purchase of new equipment instead of repairs of the outmode one.

OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (included in UCL Port – stevedoring division of the International transportation group UCL Holding) – is the largest operator, rendering services on handling of all types of dry cargoes in the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg.  It operates by modern specialized terminals for handling of ro-ro cargoes, cars and metals. In 2013 the turnover of OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” amounted to 7.8 mln. tons of cargoes. The company transferred 224.8 mln rubles for the development of port infrastructure and technical re-equipment of the terminals.
