On October 9, 2014, the Federal Security Service of Russia and the OJSC«Yaroslavsky Shipyard» (managing company — the CJSC «VP FINSUDPROM») signed the state contract for the construction of speedboats of the project 12260«Yastreb».
In accordance with the state contract the shipbuilders of Yaroslavl will deliver to the customer a series of 4 cutters of this project up to the mid-2016.
Over the past few years the OJSC «Yaroslavsky Shipyard» has built for various customers 11 cutters of the project 12260«Yastreb», including the Federal Security Service of Russia — 3 units.
Their function is to carry out the inspection work and patrols as a part of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the sea coastal zones with special staff and passengers on board.
The boat’s major characteristics: length overall – 13 m; width overall – 3.4 m; midships depth – 2.1 m; full displacement – 11.3 m; speed – 41 knots; cruising range with maximum resources – at least 300 miles; endurance – 24 hours; crew – 2 persons; passenger accommodation – 4 persons.
Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant (the managing company —CJSC «VP FINSUDPROM») is situated in the central part of Russia, on the bank of the river Volga. It is an Open Joint Stock Company since 1993. The company specializes in construction of both civil vessels and warships.
The shipyard’s current state-ordered projects are: seagoing tug of project 745 mbs and three landing boats of project 21820 for the RF Ministry of Defense; three high-speed patrol boats of project 12260 for the RF Federal Security Service; six boom-laying boats of project SV 2407 and three bunkering tankers of project RT 18 for the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency.
