Yaroslavsky Shipyard signs contract for construction of boom-laying launches of project А40–2B

On 3 October 2014, on the results of an open tender the FSI «Management of state customer of development programs of sea transport» and the OJSC «Yaroslavsky Shipyard» (managing company — the CJSC «VP FINSUDPROM») have signed the state construction contract on the object «Construction of a rescue boom-laying launch», the shipyard says in its press release.

Under this state contract the shipbuilders of Yaroslavl will build a series of 6 boom-laying launches of the project A40-2B.

The cutters of the project A40-2B are intended for transportation and installation of boom guards in sea coastal search and rescue areas, on the waters of the bays, inlets and seaports, to contain the spread of spilled oil products, to liquidate oil spills, to collect the spilled oil products into a floating rigid containers with a minimum capacity of 2 m3 and their further towing to the reception points of shore or floating stations and also for the construction of oil-gathering orders.

The main characteristics of the boom-laying launch of the project А40–2B:

Class: CM Ice2 R3-RSN AUT3oil recovery ship (>60°) of the Russian Marine Register of Shipping;

Overall length – 19,9 m;

Overall width – 4,7 m;

Draft – 1,05 m;

Full displacement – 46,4 tons;

Running speed – 20 knots;

Autonomy – 3 days;

Floating distance – up to 250 sea miles;

Crew/special staff – 2/4 persons.

Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant (the managing company —CJSC «VP FINSUDPROM»)  is situated in the central part of Russia, on the bank of the river Volga. It is an Open Joint Stock Company since 1993. The company specializes in construction of both civil vessels and warships. 

The shipyard’s current state-ordered projects are: seagoing tug of project 745 mbs and three landing boats of project 21820 for the RF Ministry of Defense; three high-speed patrol boats of project 12260 for the RF Federal Security Service; six boom-laying boats of project SV 2407  and three bunkering tankers of project RT 18 for the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency.
