Konecranes presents the EU stage 4 / EPA 4f engine offered on their complete range of lift trucks, the company said in its press release.
“Our intention is to always be at the engineering forefront, offering the latest development in engines to our customers. We can now meet the latest EU stage 4 / EPA 4f environmental standards, improving the efficiency of our products”, says Daniel Sjöstrand, Product Manager, Konecranes’ Business Unit Lift Trucks.
The emission legislation being applied in Europe and North America has been a major challenge for all engine manufacturers, but as of 2014 certain engine manufacturers now offer EU stage 4 engines that meet this legislation. Konecranes now offers a wide range of EU stage 4 / EPA 4f engines that meet the latest emission legislation, with focus on operational economy, increased uptime, reduced emissions and outstanding performance.
Konecranes is especially satisfied with the diesel particulate filter developed for the EU stage 4 engines, offered by one of the engine manufacturers. The fully automatic diesel particulate filter (DPF) system reduces harmful particulate matters without interrupting the lift trucks operation or lowering productivity or performance. Passive regeneration takes place regularly at low exhaust temperatures to oxidize particulate matter.
Konecranes welcomes the growing awareness and use of eco-efficient technologies by the customers. Together with the hybrid reach stacker and the improved engines the company continues to embrace innovations with regard to protecting the environment. “These engines will not only improve the day-to-day work environment of our customers, but will ultimately make a difference to the larger environment as well. This is what inspires us to lead the way in the use of new engine technologies” – Daniel Sjöstrand continues.
