Busan Port Authority(BPA) stated that the BPA will carry out '2014 Safe Korea Excercise' for three days starting on the 21st in order to strengthen cooperation with related institutions and to enhance initial countermeasures for large scale marine pollution accidents, BPA said in its press release.
The goal of the drill is to take prompt and effective actions to various accidents at Busan Port caused by global climate changes.
First day on 21, BPA will hold an inspection meeting to review each departments' duties and look for vulnerabilities, and also inspect equipment for disaster prevention preparing for the large scale marine pollution accidents.
On the second day, civil defense training, evacuation drills for earthquakes will be carried out.
BPA will operate the drill based on the emergency response manual for disasters, and will improve weaknesses swiftly for future disasters.
“2014 Safe Korea Excercise”, organized by the National Safety Administration Committee, will be conducted at institutions and organizations including central ministries, local governments and public institutions in the nation.
