Zelenodolsk Shipyard launches Project 22570 TPD Sviyaga
Tatarstan, Russia based Zelenodolsk Shipyard named after Maxim Gorky today November 6 2014 held a launching ceremony for TPD Sviyaga, a floating transport dock, the shipbuilding company said in a press release.
TPD "Sviyaga" designed by St.Petersburg based Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau is a special-purpose ship. The vessel is intended for transportation of ships and to perform dock inspection of hulls. The Sviyaga will provide repair and maintenance of ships of the Russian Navy's Northern Fleet. The floating dock will be transporting ships on inland waterways from north to south.
State contract for the transport floating dock of Project 22570 was signed in the spring of 2012. The vessel delivery is scheduled for 2015.

The TPD Sviyaga keel was laid down on 30 November 2012.
Zelenodolsk Shipyard named after M. Gorky is based in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia and specializes in the construction of warships and passenger high-speed vessels. The company is managed by Ak Bars Holding.
