Pella Shipyard completes underway / dock-side trials of RB-413 tugboat (photo)
Leningrad region, Russia based Pella Shipyard has finalized sea trials and mooring capabilities tests of new tugboat "RB-413" of 90600 design (Hull No 941) of the 2015 delivery program, the shipbuilding company's press release said.
The tug is going to pass state acceptance trials shortly and then will be handed over to the Russian Navy to enter service with the Baltic Fleet, the shipbuilder said.
The 90600-design tug is intended for towing and dockside operations in harbor, at offshore locations and coastal areas with designated R2 navigation area, for refloating of grounded vessels, for fighting fires at floating and onshore facilities, for oil spill response, for cargo transport, and ice removal.
Ship's general characteristics: length overall - 25.4 m, breadth overall - 8.8 m, draft - 4.2 m, speed - 11 8 knots, RS class notation KM Arc4 R3 Aut3 Tug.
The tug is powered by Rolls-Royce BPK 155 US propulsion system, FPP into nozzles, with Caterpillar C32 twin engines rated power 2x746 kW at 1800 r / min.
Deck equipment: Fluidmecanica bow double-drum anchor-towing-mooring electro-hydraulic winch, bollard pull of 10 tonnes and and 1860 kN of brake holding force; SWL towing hook of bollard pull of 23 tonnes with quick release device; Palfinger RS 2300 compact crane of lifting capacity of 150 kg at max. outreach of 5m. The vessel has firefighting capabilities equipped with FFS system of capacity of 800 m3 / h, twin water monitors / water spray curtain.
