Maximum payback period for purchase and installation of a scrubber is 3 years in case of round-the-year operation of a vessel Robert Segercrantz, Managing Director of DeltaLangh Ltd. told IAA PortNews journalist at the first international forum Green Logistics: Ideas. Practice. Prospects. arranged by RZD-Partner and held in Helsinki (Finland) on November 14.
“The cost of a scrubber manufactured by DeltaLangh, including its installation, is from EUR 3 mln to EUR 5 mln,” Mr Robert Segercrantz said.
Restrictions of sulphur content in ship fuel coming into effect in the Baltic and North Seas (SECAs) from January 1, 2015 set a limit of 0.1%. Distillate and gas fuel as well as scrubbers are considered as alternative solutions.
DeltaLangh Ltd is a joint venture company owned by Deltamarin Ltd and Oy Langh Tech Ab, a sister company to Langh Ship. DeltaLangh designs and produces scrubbers and water treatment units for merchant ships – available also on a turnkey basis. The installation supervision, crew training and after-sales is also handled by DeltaLangh.
