Naviland Cargo launches first shuttle between the Port of Rotterdam and southern France

Naviland Cargo has launched a container shuttle between the port of Rotterdam and Lyon. The rail service will operate three times a week. Daily departures are expected in 2015, the company said in its press release.

The train will take 48 hours to travel between the Rotterdam terminals RSC, Euromax, ECT Delta, APMT and Vénissieux in Lyon. From here, there are connections to terminals in Fos-sur-Mer and Marseille (total transit time 72 hours).

The multimodal operator Naviland Cargo connects ports in northern Europe and those in the south every day via twelve hinterland terminals. The company runs 421 trains a month, which accounted for more than 130,000 transported units in 2013. With the combination of rail and truck, Naviland offers shipping companies, freight forwarders and tank operators total transport solutions on a daily basis. The terminals provide such services as (empty) container management, repairs, maintenance, storage under customs supervision, etc.
