The Broekman Group has sold its Automotive Division, which includes the car terminal on the Brittanniëhaven, to C.RO Ports BV, an operating company of the Belgian concern Cobelfret. The Belgian group operates a 28-hectare ro/ro terminal on the Brittanniëhaven, adjacent to the car terminal, the company said in its press release.
All staff and clients of Broekman Automotive will be transferred to C.RO Ports. According to the group, this will improve the continuity for both staff and clients. The terminal on the Brittanniëhaven has a capacity for 35,000 cars, including 22,000 covered spaces. The site is accessible by road, rail and water.
Broekman, originally a firm of ship’s agents, has been concerned with car and car part logistics for thirty years. In recent years, the group has moved increasingly in the direction of logistics and distribution, mainly in the field of chemicals.
